Culinary

At Lone Star, we live to eat... and we think you do too, at least while you are on vacation.

We believe in all things delicious and if they are not delicious, we don’t serve them!

Our philosophy extends to the exclusive use of local production, home grown, heirlooms, organic, and free range: because we believe there is enough bad and plastic food out there and we just don’t want anyone we know to be eating that, especially our friends and our esteemed guests (who often become our friends, too).

So if great dining is one of your personal food groups, you are coming to the right place.

Our goal?  To send you on your way in a haze of delight.

Our happy battery-rescue free-range chickens delight us each day with gorgeous, flavorful eggs, of which we are understandably proud.

We also bake our own breads, rolls and oatcakes; we make our own fresh fruit preserves, squeeze the freshest oranges and grind the best dark-roast coffee beans to help start your morning with a smile.

Our breakfast menus change daily to accommodate what is freshest and finest at the moment.

Our French-trained resident chef showcases  Scotland’s culinary heritage by sourcing foods from local growers, Fife fishermen and farmers, and of course, from our own organic kitchen herb gardens, vegetable plots and of course from our happy battery-rescue free-range hens.

Other evenings we are pleased to suggest our tried and true favourite local restaurants and make reservations for you, as you wish.  Please be advised that St. Andrews and Fife restaurants close early, usually serving the last meal by 9 PM, though we can suggest some who provide late evening meals.

If you have a special occasion and wish to reserve another evening for a special meal in-house, do let us know in advance and we will try our very best to see that you are pleased.
